Before Surgery

How is assessment, briefing and preparation organized?

The surgical decision

The evaluation does not start with the operation. It starts with the question: what is the real problem and which option offers the best balance of benefit and risk?

What to bring to the appointment

  • Recent blood tests.
  • Ultrasound, CT, MRI or endoscopic examinations on CD/link and report.
  • List of medications, allergies and previous surgeries.
  • Questions you want answered before you decide.

What we will discuss

  • If there is a clear indication for surgery or if there is a safe follow-up/conservative treatment.
  • Which technique is appropriate for your case.
  • What are the realistic risks and benefits.
  • Where can the operation be performed and what is the expected hospitalization.
  • What will be needed after discharge.

Information is part of the treatment. The patient must understand the plan before accepting it.
